Don
& Cheryl Cox, global missionaries with the Church
of the Nazarene, will be sharing their experiences on
the mission field with us during our Family Worship
Wednesday, September 16 at 7:00 p.m.
On
December 10, 1995, Don was kidnapped in Quito, Ecuador
by a terrorist group and held for ransom for two weeks
in a rain forest in Ecuador. The Coxes and their three
sons returned to the United States on December 16. Don
was rescued on December 24th by a special anti-terrorist
task force of the Ecuadorian government, and returned
to the United States on Christmas Day. |
Get
Involved in World Evangelism right here at
Apopka Calvary Nazarene Church!
There
are many ways for you to be involved in World Evangelism through
the ministry of NMI at Apopka Calvary Nazarene:
-
Prayer
- Our people are called on to pray for our Nazarene missionaries
on the field, for the persecuted Christians all of the
world, for those in need and for the salvation of lost
souls.
-
Education
- Up-to-date information is shared with our adults, teens
and children as to what is happening through World Missions.
Several times a year we are privileged to have missionaries
visit our church to share what is happening on the field.
If a child, teen or adult feels the call of God to become
a missionary, we mentor and encourage them in fulfilling
that call.
-
Giving
- Here at Calvary we consider it a joyous privilege to
give for World Evangelism. We assist in Natural Disasters
and Compassionate Ministries of all kinds. We present
our people with opportunities to give and encourage each
other to pray and give as God directs.
Interactive
Experiences - We believe in "helping the widows
and orphans". Our Homeland Missions ministry takes us
"Across the Street" to minister to those in need
in our community, our state and our country. Work and Witness
takes us "Across the Sea" to serve on the mission
field for a week or two. Many other "hands on" ministry
opportunities are given to serve the Lord through the NMI
department.
